A room at the Arms- Sunday evening

Harry thought this weekend was great. It hadn't been long since he'd had to see Sirius disappear and die, and now he was back. He was used to a lot of loss. He wasn't used to getting it reversed. He had so little stuff that he'd essentially moved into the suite at the Arms with Sirius for the weekend, getting to catch up and showing him around.

And maybe he was hoping that come the end of the weekend, they'd be leaving the island together. There was still time to settle in before it was time to go back to Hogwarts, and if it still wasn't safe for him to be there, then it should be perfectly safe to stay with Sirius, since he was probably still in hiding, too.

He'd even subtly started packing up the things of his that had gotten strewn around the living area, just in case.

"Who says you have to?" Harry said, like a true Gryffindor. "Why can't we just leave? Go back to London."

He didn't want to stay here. He wanted to be close to where the Order was dealing with Voldemort, where he could see his friends, and not be half a world away in a different time. And he wanted to be with his godfather like he should have been, instead of being shuttled off here, or worse, with the Dursleys.

They'd both gotten robbed of how things should have been. It felt unfair to have it happen again.

"I can't stay forever, Harry," Sirius told him. "But at least we get this much. We get to say goodbye this time."

"I don't want to."

So what if he'd decided to act like a stubborn kid. He was one.

It had probably been too much to hope that Harry would be cool about this. It was actually pretty flattering, and Sirius would love to focus on that rather than how heartbreaking this felt. "Later you'll be glad you have this."

"I don't care about later on," Harry said, feeling angry tears prick at his eyes. "This isn't fair."

"Not everyone gets fair," Sirius told him, and pulled him into a hug. "You know that better than most."

He hated that. He hated it so much.

And Harry... didn't have an argument against that. This was stupid. Right now it felt worse this way. He also didn't know how to fight it, especially when Sirius seemed pretty resigned to leaving.

That was unfair in itself.

After a long while, Harry asked, "Do we have to do anything? Can we just stay here until..."

Sirius nodded. "We can do that."
